Taking the Guesswork Out of Traveler Comfort

"Life keeps throwing me stones. And I keep finding the diamonds."

- Ana Claudia Antunes

With masks this season’s mandatory fashion accessory and “social distancing” destined to become Merriam-Webster’s Words of the Year, it’s clear Q4 2020 isn’t exactly what we thought (or hoped) it’d be. Yet, things are looking up. Interest in travel is steadily gaining traction—and ALG Vacations™ is here to help.

When the ALGV team first came together to plan how we could support travel advisor recovery, we knew sharable content for your customers was key. Paramount among all those tools would be something that would let you understand your clients’ travel comfort level, as well as track sentiment across the country.

And so, the COVID-19 travel edition quiz—the heart of our Walking on Sunshine program—was born.

Short, fun, and never taking itself too seriously, our quiz reveals what kind of traveler you are. Instead of the typical “beach lover” or “thrill seeker” results, however, we’re telling quiz-takers what they really want to know: if they’re ready to travel.

Questions like “What type of traveler were you pre-COVID?” and “What is currently most restricting you from traveling?” place your clients in one of three categories, ranging from still-waiting to ready to go. Instant share buttons for Facebook and Twitter make it easy not only to post to your page, but for your customers to shout out their results. Monthly results reports on VAX offer a broader perspective for comparison.

Once more of your clients—existing and potential—start taking the quiz, you’ll have a clearer picture of their general mind set and be better prepared to meet their needs.

If most of your customers are rearing to go, great! You can go ahead and get the word out about deals they won’t want to miss. If, on the other hand, they’re considering a vacation, but not quite there, adapt your strategy to prioritize sharing new sanitation standards and explaining protocols. Requirements are changing rapidly; reassure them they’ve got an expert on their side to navigate them through.

With tools like our quiz to light the way to recovery, we didn’t want our partners to just be keeping their chins up; we wanted them to be Walking on Sunshine.

And don’t it feel good?
